Ive been having problems with a broken tooth for about 2 months and managed to get a filling done even though the dentist advised root treatment which absolutely terrified me.
However over the last week the pain got so bad that I have been forced to face my fear and go for it and yesterday managed to get an appointment at short notice (less time to panic), got in the chair, closed my eyes, concentrated on my breathing, the radio etc and had the whole treatment done...and I was absolutely fine!!!!! In fact I wish I had done it weeks ago!!!!I am so chuffed with myself I was elated leaving the surgery and kept thanking my dentist ( mind you I think his nerves are shot to bits now lol).
I cant believe that I had the scariest procedure I could ever imagine done without having to be referred for sedation and even managed to stay fairly calm thoughout....so if anyone out there has the same fear....go for it, if I can do it anyone can...and it was nowhere near as bad as I had built it up to be in my mind.
