    The Blues

Does anybody have trouble just even getting out of the bed everyday? Some days all I want to do is sleep or watch TV. I just don't have the energy or the mind set to face the day. My boyfriend thinks I am just lazy and I wonder if that is it. But I really don't think it is, because there is lots I want to do, but just don't have the energy to get up and do it. This makes me feel bad when it comes to my 3 year old. I wish I had more spunk in dealing with her too.[Sigh...]

    hi Tessa,

I'm the same. It's so tempting sometimes just to stay in bed. This is normal for people suffering from anxiety/depression..

Ermm.. look up "spunk" in an English dictionary Tessa. [)]

Regarding your being tired. Have you been tested for M.E, or Thyroid, or have you been seen by an MD regarding depression? There are a hundred and one things that could be causing your lack of energy and I very much doubt laziness is one of them.

    hi tessa,

I am like that too, if i can stay in bed i will, and its not that i want to sleep just dont want to get up,

do you work ? cos i found once i stopped working it seemed like my reason to get up had gone so had my daily routine, and i found it hard to get motivated.

ive been taking iron tablets cos someone told me that might help, and i'll try anything once (well nearly anything LOL)

hope you feel a bit better soon dont beat yourself up .

Like sarah says it is a common feeling in people with anxieties

    Hi Tessa

I suffer from depression and often feel like this. It is more lethagy than a case of being lazy. You are not staying in bed because you want to feel like this; it is a symptom of anxiety/depression.

Sometimes if you can force yourself to get up and do a small task it can help you to feel a little better. It doesn't have to be much. A few weeks ago it was all I could manage to get out of bed and stay up all day. Now I'm trying to get out for a walk every day. I haven't done so well today though.

Hope you feel a little better now.

    Hi Tessa

You are not alone in how you feel. Some days i get up with Sam and need to have a sleep through the day otherwise i can feel the anxiety growing me. Its down to depression too some cant sleep and some cant stop sleeping. It isnt down to laziness at all and dont think that but to people who dont suffer it can easily be portrayed as that.
