Forgot to take meds this morning....

For the first time ever in 5 months on Citalopram I forgot to take my dose (20mg) this morning. I won't be able to take it until I get home around 6pm. I feel fine at the moment but wondered if taking just one dose late is likely to affect me or will there be sufficient in my system for me not to suffer any ill effects???

Hi there. I know everyone reacts to meds in different ways but i would think you'd be ok. For most meds whatever they are it usually takes a few days for any withdrawal to kick in. It might be worth giving the surgery a quick call (or pharmacists are really good with this kind of info) just to check if its ok to take one tonight as well as another at your usual time in the morning. If 20mg every 24hrs is normal dose for you, then 40mg in 12 hours might not be.
