I did it...we have new names

Not quiet a success story, but in my eyes its a start for me to be on the road to recovery. Those that know me, know what has happened and how I am struggling even now to come to terms with the events of last year.

Having the same surname as my ex..and for my children to have that name too has been a big bug bear of mine...everytime someone address me or my children with that name I inwardly cringe..knowing what my ex is and I have hated the fact that we still have his name....but....no more

Officially from this evening...me and my three youngest children, now have the same surname as my boyfriend, who truly is one in a million. Next step now is adoption, Carl my boyfriend now wants to adopt my three youngest children (the other three are too old) and we are now awaiting the forms from the Courts.

I told my three youngest tonight that their names are now different, to which little Travis who is 5 said...'but mummy, I don't know how to spell it'

They are all so happy that they have the same name as their 'daddy' because Carl my boyfriend is the best dad I could ever have wished for them to have.

I am so on a high...my boyfriend keeps joking he is now gonna change his surname to Smith..but I know him and I know deep down he is really really pleased that we are now sharing his name

I did tell him that I am gonna be changing the Mrs part to Ms...but he said nah..keep the Mrs and now you can be Mrs C*******r

Both me and my boyfriend have two failed marriages behind us...and have both vowed that we are never going to do it again...so now I can be called Mrs C*******r and not be married....suits me fine
