  1. Does anyone else get this.....(pulse related)

I have become pretty obsessed with checking my pule lately - but i notice when i am counting it'll be in a rythym then all of a sudden will go a few beats faster and then go back to the usual rythym again - is this a normal thing for a heart to do or is it palpiatations?? Or maybe just cos i am concentrating on it too much?

Well, in my visit to ER when I got diagnoised, they monitored my heart and it was exactly like that. But I also had been there for my friends' pregnancy she was on the heart monitor and it did the same thing, and she was a healthy person...

    Hi hun

Please, please hun, don't do this to yourself, check your heart rate all the time, ohhh boy, Mrs anxiety loves this, cos we always question things and when your anx it high, we may put 2 and 2 togther and come up with 5.

You will find that all peoples heart rate go up down throughout the day, depending on what they are doing or have been doing, this is normal.

If you anx is high, your heartrate may go wobbley, this is normal for an anx suffer.

It sounds to me you anx is a little high, so Mr anx said, "ohh check your heart rate"", ohhh hun, don't listen to her, you don't need to check it, she is playing with you, don't let her do this to you.

Use positive self thought, tell yourself this IS normal, use distration, don't put to much inportance on your heart rate hun.

When I was acute I could feel my heart in my chest most of the time, but I just kept telling myself it was becasue of anx and it WILL pass, it always did.

Hope this has helped you a little

    YOU TAKE CARE

    LOVE JILLXX

Don't know if you know, but your heartbeat goes slightly slower on an in-breath and faster on an out-breath, so if you take a deep breath in its slower and when you release the breath your heart beats faster...or it could be the other way around !!

Hi I am new to this site, I am pleased to have found people who may be living with the same thing as me, so I know I am not imagining it. I have the ecoptic beats, have noticed them for 25 years + have had 3 seperate spells of AF which have led to hospital admission (doctors seemed to think brought on by excessive boozing) bizzare though that each episode has been 10 years apart. I am frustrated that no medical professional I have met has taken it seriously. It dominates my day, I am always worried, the worst thing is lack of control, when it happens there is nothing I can do about it. It is riuning my life, it makes me irritable, anxious, frustrated and helpless. Sorry to be so negative

Re: Does anyone else get this.....(pulse related)

Hi there. As another ectopic sufferer, i'm a little concerned to read that you also devoeloped AF. There was another member a while back who posted to say the same thing. So now im thinking that this could happen to me, although ive suffered with ectopics for many years and have somehow learned to live with them. However, im becoming more anxious when i read that they may eventually turn into AF and i could be hospitilised, and the fact that i also drink probably too much, it doesnt help to know that this can also contribute to AF.

Is this inevitable for us who suffer with ectopics then? Will most of us develop AF? when the other member posted to say it happened to her, i thought it was bad luck...and a one off. Now im hearing about it again....help!
