I like Tangerine Dream - trance-inducing instrumental electronic music from the 70s and 80s. It's eerie and atmospheric and I find it makes human problems seem trivial, for a while.

Here's another song that is great to relax to - makes me cry for some reason but I absolutely love it! Dobie Gray - Drift Away http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A91a7RIT8jY&NR=1

For me, listening to ambient music... my favourite artists in this genre are:

    Robert Rich http://robertrich.com/

    and

Steve Roach http://www.steveroach.com (especially his 'atmospheric space' music. I use this while meditating. It really helps me to escape for a while, and it allows me to get my brain into it's 'alpha waves' state, where you feel really relaxed and your worries seem far away).

Tip, if you like his stuff, then if you are in the UK you can get some of his longer relaxing tracks, like the one called 'Immersion' for only 79p per 73 minute track! Go to Tescodigital.com

I agree about the Sabbath track, it's very relaxing and peaceful. I also like Robert Fripp and Brian Eno's "Evening Star" (the title track).

Other things I find relaxing are Enigma's "Return to Innocence" and Moby's "Porcelain" (love that one). I'll probably think of some more later.

Thanks, I will. My Mum's also given me her New Age cassettes, and there's some good ones there too like Tim Wheater's flute music and Clifford White's "Ascension."
