    Re: Best med for sleep

Hi dlou - no withdrawal symptoms, sleeping ok without. The length of time I'm actually asleep has varied since stopping ranging between 6 and 10 hours - not sure why this is. I just get up when I wake though, then I'm ready for bed come the next night.

    Krakers.

    Re: Best med for sleep

I went to a sleep specialist and he told me these things help:

    1) go to bed the same time every night even on weekends

    2) get 15 minutes of sunlight every morning

    3) wake up the same time every day even on the weekends

    4) no tv or reading in the bed

    5) no mental activity an hour before bed, this includes tv, reading, crossword puzzles, etc. I just relax not in bed, but in my den tryng to unwind from the day listening to calming music

    6) no alcohol as it will actually upset your sleeping pattern

    7) obviously no caffiene

    8) no naps during the day and if you must nap no more than 20 minutes

I tried all of these hints and it did help me.

    Re: Best med for sleep

I have problems sleeping. The minute I put my head on the pillow even tho Im really tired my mind goes into overdrive. I leave the tv on. And go to sleep with it on.
Also everynight before I got to bed I have a bath.
My hubbys solution to me being unable to sleep was to lie on the edge of the bed and then youl soon drop off.
