How old were you when they started?

I was about seven/eight - I'd just be interested in seeing how old other people were? What's the longest you've been free of them?

    Take care,

    Hiya Sara,

Welcome to our family. I was about 15 when my attacks started, atleast that`s the earliest I can remember having them. Then they went away for a few years, came back, went away again. Now they are back. I wish I knew how to keep them from reoccuring.

    Take care,

    Diana xxx

I was 19, twenty one years ago. Since then, they've always been at the back of my mind, and occassionally come to the front. Experience allows you to deal with them, and you find your own ways of doing this. I've accepted that they're now just a part of who I am, and look on the positives - they haven't driven me into depression, interfered with my family life, social life or career. I could argue they have pushed me into trying to take charge of aspects of my life I'm dissatisfied with, and have definately helped me to understand myself better.

I was about 12. Only I didn't understand what it was then.

    I "peaked" at 18.

The anxiety and attacks disappeared when I was about 22 - 23.

They came back three years ago when I was 30.

The general anxiety is getting less, and the panic attacks have just about stopped (last "proper" one in July), but still have a feeling of mild anxiety alot of the time.

I was 14/15 when panic attacks started.

Anxiety didn't really get bad until I was 23 and peaked about 6 months ago

I was 20, five years ago. They've been off and on since then. Some more serious than others. But I'm getting past all this one day and one step at a time. This is a great place to help you get thru the tuff days. Let's all get better!!

I was 19, am 41 now. Over the years, sometimes its been anxiety, sometimes depression, sometimes both. I've had bad times, worse times and some good times. I found when my children were small I was a lot better, I think cos I had to do so much for them I didnt have so much time to analize how I was feeling!
