    Stopping Citalopram

    Hello,
I've been tasking Sertraline and Mirtazapine for some time now. Recently, the doctor introduced Citalopram, but I am currently stoppinbg them. I've been feeling VERY dizzy and a bit nauseous. I haven't taken a Citalopram for about a week. Is it normal to feel this way when you stop Citalopram?

    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi

You need to come off Citalopram slowly and not stop immediately. Have you just gone cold turkey on them?

    Hi
I was on these meds for absolutely years, my GP took me straight off them and gave me something different. I never had one side affect, but everyone is different.
If you were only on them short term i would think you'd be ok coming off them, but if you keep feeling dizzy, it may put your mind at rest to go have a chat with your doc.

    Re: Stopping Citalopram

    Hello,
I was on them for three weeks but felt bad on them. Then I stopped cold turkey about 4 days ago. I've had bad dizziness for a long time, but it's been especially bad the last few days. Then again, I started back at work yesterday!

But I'm trying to work out if Citalopram might be a cause.
