3 years since my dog died

I'm feeling pretty down today. Its three years since my beautiful great dane Shadow died from cancer. I've posted poems about him on a dane forum. But all I really want is a hug.

Animals really do become part of the family and they are a deeply rooted part of our lives. It's always so sad when they leave us.

I'm so sorry, animals don't live long enough and they really do become part of the family. I had to get my dog put down last year she was 16.

Wow. two hugs already. you guys are the best. I've been having some really good weeks lately but today has really knocked me for six. My 3 dogs all know I'm fed up today and I have both danes on the sofa with me and my terrier at my feet. Dunno what I'd do without them. But Shadow really was my one and only soulmate. I told him all the bad things about my life and he sat, listened and still gave me his unconditional love.

Awwwww sending you big hugs hun,have had two dogs PTS recently and its heartbreaking.I still have 3 left and am taking on a new foster dog tomorrow,we will never forget them because they have been such an important part of our lives......

Sending hugs .I know what its like to lose a memeber of the family with 4 legs.I hate when some ppl say its only a dog,to which i reply"Only someone that has never had a dog would say that".Dogs are so very loyal and unconditional loving that i do swear people could learn alot from them.Lynne,take comfort in the fact that shadow loved you as much as you loved him.
