health anxiety dvt in leg after long journey - plz help

i have realised that i have health anxiety and am really scared that i have a blood clot in my leg

i was in the car driving last thursday for 6 hours but i did stop every hour and a half and strech my legs. at one point my right foot went numb and i had to wiggle it loads to get feeling back in it. I then had to go in the car for another 3 hours later on that evening (3hours later).

The next day my legs were really aching especially my left calf. by saturday i was well freaked out and went to A and E i only saw a nurse and she said i was fine. then we drove back home sunday night another 3 hours and i moved my legs the whole way but i now have a bit of swelling behind my left knee and im scarred ive got dvt. I was really short of breath earlier (mon) but i was stressing loads so could be cause of that.

I work in an office where im sat down all the time too. Im 20 years old

I dont know what to do. I dont want to go to A and E again and im so scared im going to have a pe and die. Any help....?

Do you smoke, have high blood pressure, have a family history of dvt or blood clotting?

You are only young you are highly unlikely to have dvt unless you have several risk factors.

DVt usually presents itself as being really painful and affected leg will be hot, red, swollen and tender, you would KNOW something was wrong.

That's defo NOT a dvt huni!!! Your legs are probably just sore because of the long drive.

If you can't stop worrying then give your gp a call tomorrow and i am sure he will ease your mind

Take an asprin before you go.

Then forget about it.

Only old people, and chronically unfit people get DVT.

Actually not a good idea to take the aspirin unless directed by your doctor.

thanks so much guys for your reasurance, i really appreciate it. I went down the docs today and she put me on citrolpram, i dont know if theyll help but worth a go i guess.

Nope, high blood pressure causes clots because it damages the surface of your arteries so your blood thinks theres damage and forms a clot there.

Meh.... taking an aspirin wont kill you.

A lot of sources recommend it daily, with or without any pre-existing condition.

Go for it Labridges, and dont worry.

Legs always feel tired after long spells of exercise, or long spells of sitting down. Doesnt mean anything is wrong.

I know it won't kill you, but it's actually not allowed to be sold for that purpose unless a doctor has told you to, it can interact with a lot of meds, especially because she had low blood pressure already.
