hi guys

I hate having to eat in public- dont know where it stemed from as used to go out to restaurants all the time- since panic/ anx though i havent

Well ive been back at work for about a month on phrased return and dreading doing full shifts coz i would need to eat a meal (i do ten n half hours)

Today and yesterday i ahve managed to eat my lunch and dinner in work- i know this might be silly to some but for me i feel like its such a big achievement- i did get a bit panicky after eating today but am doing my breathing techniques

Just wanted to share it with some1

I think you could call that a big success and it isn't such a little thing I had major problems eating out when I was really anxious and I have only just been able to overcome those. Well done.

Hey well done you - I dont enjoy eating out and manage to do it occasionally with my husband. I found out with help from a counsellor that it was because as a child I was forced to sit at the table until my plate was empty even if it was hours and hours so grew up with a complex. Even to this day, if we do eat out, I panic if I cant eat all thats on my plate - I do usually leave food but feel so guilty.I am sure its a throwback from my childhood and what you did was amazing so well done.Wenjoy x

One of my anxieties is eating and drinking in Public and has been for at least 20 years.I've been amazed to discover what a common anxiety it is. hope you continue to deal with it
