how long till its out your system?

Hi started on citalopram 3 weeks ago and doc advised me to stop yesterday as the side effects were to bad for me. how long till this is fully out my system??

i've just started on those cheeky for panic attacks,its my 2nd week now and ive heard it takes 4 weeks befor they really start to work,only side effects i have had is hot and cold flushes and some stomach trouble,i also find it hard to sleep more than 2 hours at night and yawn a lot.I think you are supposed to taper off them not stop right away.It says on the instructions that these carry on working long after you have stopped taking them to help depression,best wishes,Gray.

I was getting extreme symptoms of depersonalisation and depression and it was getting worse as the weeks went on. The doc advised to stop them right away as they have done nothing for me anyway and he thinks i had a very bad reaction. i was assured by 2 different doctors this was best for me to do as yes i did say to the doc that i thought you are not ment to just stop but in my case i was advised to. all i need to know is how long till its out of my system?
