Citalopram- starting dose 2mg!!!

Ok just been the docs AGAIN hes now prescribed Citalopram in liquid form. he knows that i wont take meds if the side effects are bad ie..make my anxiety worse. so he told me to take 4 drops daily or start with 1 drop (1 drop=2mg)
has anyone had side effects on a really low dose like this?

I was started on 10 mg am now on 40 mg.I had side affects for two weeks while my body was getting used to the med's but it went off after that.

I wouldn't have thought 2mg would have much affect.

I started on 20mg citalopram on Monday.
I was given them last year but after reading about the side effects decided not to take them.
However in desperation ive decided to give them a go this time.
Luckily I havent had many side effects at all.
I find that after a couple of hours after taking them i need to sleep.
I must admit I feel calmer during the day but my memory seems to be effected.
However ive been told that this will pass in a couple of weeks.
Ive always been against taking tablets but this time I feel the need to take something to help me.
My doc says to get the full benefits from the drug you need to be taking them for a month.
Ive been given a months supply and then I have to go back.
I expected the side effects to be far worse and wonder if they will kick in at a later date.

I have been on 10mg for about 6 months which has been increased to 20mg. I've had slight bowel issues since starting them but nothing significant. If I remember, the first couple of weeks were interesting (strange sleep patterns, feeling a bit jittery etc,) but after 2 weeks normality. On the whole they've been relatively side-effect free and been a real help.
