Well Sue, never put anything past Kairen, she even thinks Im horrible to nic, see away for a week post.

anyway I did go to the concert last night.
I made sure i had everything under control.
The concert was great, I really enjoyed it, I cannnot say it was easy and i did not go near the front as I would normally but I stayed. It was easy to pace around so that helped not being confined to a space.
i really feel as if I am becoming part of society again as I said before but today has come and I feel AWFUL, my heart is racing, my throat is extra sticky and I am extrememly weepy, I am hoping it is the excitement and within a few hours I will be OK because if it does hit me like this everytime then I think I will just stay home in my safe environment.
Last time after the christening it took ages to recover so Im doing positive things for me today to try and speed up the recovery process, any ideas would be appreciated.
Many thanks to you all for kind posts, next concert Rod Stewart in July. That is the most important one as he is my hero and i must not miss that.
He will whisk me away Im convinced. LOL
    Love Alexis,

Well done Alexis, glad you enjoyed the concert and coped ok. I went to an indoor concert last night, it was so so hot, and we were sat right in the middle of a long row of people. There was no easy way to get up if needed. I hyperventilated a bit (well most of the concert on and off) but still enjoyed it and told myself I'd be fine. I feel really drained today too and have a splitting headache. I don't understand feeling panicky at something so enjoyable that I wanted to go too but it was great anyway.
So glad you went and had fun too.
    Love LJ x
P.S If Rod whisks you away, don't worry I won't tell Penny lol

Hey, steady on old girl! whisk you away? rod stewart? I THINK NOT!!!!!
Seriously Alexis, i think you have done so very well, it was difficult what you done, it would be exhausting for anyone, but as we all know, with anxiety, it exhausts even more, please do not be put off by the way you feel today. I know after any event i get home and feel absolutely awful, don't know why, just a sense of relief i suppose, relax to best you can, listen to some music, pamper yourself, 'cos i tell you something mate...you deserve it! xxxxxxxxxxxxx

That's fab that it went so well Alexis.

And I liked the bit you said about becoming part of society again. Whoooooooo!

However you practice in the intervening time, I imagine the day after seeing Rod is going to be tough for you - you will be so stimulated!

It would be interesting to see the effect of a low-key concert soon after that.

I'll buy you a pint later

Well done for going and staying Alexis. You are making great progress.

I think these after effects will gradually get less the more you practise at going out to events like these and with socialising more in general. Going back to staying at home all the time won't really make you happy, will it?

There is no going back and I don't think you really would want to anyway.

    Hi Guys,
LJ thanks for your words of reassurance, although I am sorry you havent felt brilliant today it has helped me knowing, Im not alone with these feelings.Glad you enjoyed the concert too. not sure I could have done what you did, at least I had a masssive field I could have wandered in.
I would just like to correct you on one thing though, Rod is not actually with this woman called Penny, it is a rumour which the papers have made up, My kids will tell you he has been looking for me for years, I even have a signed photo of him next to my bed.lol.

Carlin, cheers pal, what do you mean Rod will not whisk me away or he is not able, lol, take care. he is mine though, not yours.Jealousy gets you nowhere.

Meg, thanks for your words of support, I always await your reply, you are so much like my close friend, you always seem to know the right things to say, yes I was striding, today Im jumping on the spot, that is OK im not going backwards.

Ray, where the blooming heck is my pint, went in pub, nowt to be seen, come on Man, get your hand in your pocket.

Karen I have only suffered these after effects twice as Ive only pushed myself to do anything twice, this time has not got any less than last time. I may not be happy to stay home but I feel safe and dont have days of symptoms again.

Nic thanks for the hugs, they really mean a lot and was what I needed. our pig was extremely wet after bopping to madness, he only had one stella because he was navigating for me driving, he will see you in chat when he is less anxious.

Thanks to you all, take care, Love Alexis,x
