Coming Off

Hi there everyone,
Ive not been on Citalopram for very long but I would like to come off it.
I realise I will need docs instruction to do so but anyone have any advice?
I take 10mg and have been on them about 2 months. Which I know is not long but Id like to do it properly.

Hi Steph can I ask what you went on them for? and if you feel any better? As you said you have not been on them very long and it is recommended that you stay on them at least 8 months after they begin working fully. I came off 30mg after 8 months and tapered down to 20mg for 1 month, 10mg for 1 month and then nothing. And i got no withdrawal symptoms at all. Speak to your doctor before you do anything because people react differently when coming off meds x

Hi Steph,

I've been on Citalopram for about 3 weeks and am feeling better on it but so dizzy and my head is always hot. Can i ask why you want to come off it as i am quite interested in coming off it too. Do you have any side effects?
