    Reducing my dosage

    Hi,

My doctor requested I drop my dosage from 10mg to 5mg, I have been doing this for 7 days now and have started to feel agitated and slightly dark. I am not feeling 100% , anyone dropped there dosage before who has any ideas or advice. I would be most grateful.

    Thankyou,
    John

Are you talking about Citalopram? I personally think that a 50% drop is too much. Why not do alternate days to start with - that's how I did it, one day the old dose, next day the new dose and then when you feel a bit better, do the new dose for two days - much kinder on the nervous system and there's no hurry after all.

    Hi there

Im on cipralex and have been on citalopram and seroxat - i am the withdrawal queen!!!

Skippy is right a 50% drop is a bit hasty and no wonder you feel crap - Oh these doctors!!!!

I would alternate like skippy says, for a while then gradually increase 5 slowly while decreasing the 10
