Re: Religion???????????????????
I joined the Unitarian church a year ago, but stopped going. The people were nice, but I winced whenever I heard the word "God" in sermons.
I do believe in some kind of higher consciousness, but I don't believe it's really the Christian God because I feel such a God wouldn't let us suffer.
If there is a God, I think of Him/It as something that suffers with us, rather than something which can totally stop our suffering.
There is some evidence that prayer works - but why would God only reward those who pray?
I hope I haven't offended anyone. I think our world is poorer for a lack of common spiritual values, and in a way I wish I could believe.
