post flu like virus after effects on medication

hello there! 5 weeks or so before christmas i had a flu like bug that lasted for a few days. afterwards i felt heavy etc for a few weeks and suddenly last week i felt tight, confused, headachy and thought ' now what's wrong with me'.

I went to see my doctor yesterday and i told her about my fears about strokes, toxoplasmosis, brain, etc etc knowing i felt stupid and she said it was likely my sertraline levels had dropped due to my body still sorting itself out. because of this i have had my medication upped to 100mg from 50mg for a few weeks.

it would help to hear from those of you out their who have had similar or have some advice

Hi Steve,

Can't say I have ever had a doctor tell me this but I wanted to reply to your post. From what you were saying to her it sounds to me like health anxiety and she might have thought that is why you needed your meds tweaked. I do hope you feel better soon.

blood tests came back positive for virus antibodies and she said it was most likely that it knocked me. ach well onwards and upwards eh!
