Anal/Rectum pains.....is it related to IBS?

Sometimes people with i.b.s a stabbing pain as if someone was stabbing them with a knife, it has a name, but I cannot remember. The pain is sharp and usually goes quickly. The other could be piles. Do you bleed too?
I.B.S has some varied symptoms-if you are not sure, get them checked with the doctor-don't self diagnose.

I've had it before even though I don't have IBS. It used to freak me out then it disappeared when I stopped obsessing about it.

I get this a lot too with my IBS. It's quite often a dull ache like a kind of fullness in the rectum and I sometimes force myself to go to the loo and then I feel even worse because my piles then play upl. It's a viscious circle, I don't even get extremes of motion with my IBS, just a frequency which is worse at night from around 11pm to 1 or 2 in the morning. It's really messes me up as I get up at 6.30 for work. Grrrrrr!!!
