mick,my beloved friend and workmate

tomorrow mick undergoes the surgery that will tell us if his tumour is even operable.the news just gets worse and worse for his girlfiend (another collegue) and she left work tonight as if she were walking the gallows.
if you pray,please pray for mick.a nicer,funnier,cleverer man you will not meet.i want to be in a van on tour with him laughing ourselves raw,not sounding a tribute to him at his funeral,yet this is a real and sadly imminent possibility.weve worked together for nearly 20 years,at the end of each job (sometimes at 4 in the morning over a jazz cigarrette) he would say the same thing to me "always a pleasure never a chore" and i would leave feeling just dandy for that.
i hope against hope that he pulls through
