    Numbness in mouth on Lexapro?

I'm on day 2 of Lexapro and I just started having what feels like numbness in my mouth and tongue. It also feels like I'm getting stuck with a pin occasionally in my tongue. Is this a side effect?

This is my 2nd time on Lexapro and I didn't have this last time.

Thanks for any help! This is a bit frightening.

I took this drug for 5 years. I know the exact feeling that you are describing - its very difficult to describe it too! I can assure you that it is the drug. Try taking it at the same time everyday. This side effect does pass - but will return if you miss a dose etc. Hope this helps,
