HELP...My kids have swollen glands PERMANENTLY...

Now another worry. My children now aged 4 & 7 always seem to have swollen glands/nodules. I am fed up of worrying about them so have to see the doctor tomorrow morning.
They have both had them since birth, although fit and healthy, and i have before been told NOT to worry but its really hard. My daughter has huge tonsils which they won't take out, and i have this awful fear of them getting leukemia.
My friends don't really seem to know anything about it, so i am, as always turning to you guys for help...
If anyone has anything similar, i would love to know

hi there my daughter has had throat problems and over aboutthree four years she went to the hospital for who knows how many tests and now they have put it down to overlarge tonsils but havent taken them out! i personally think she has sleep apnea or something like that as at night when she is sleeping she contantly sits up and down and gasping for breath etc so basically who knows but i would say the best thing for you to do is go see a different doc and get them to do tests or something to put your mind at rest.
feel free to pm me if you want[8D]

    hello Mel,
my daughter went for a sleep apnea test 2 yrs ago, as she snores really loudly and sometimes its like she stops breathing, but they said it was normal. Have been told before that this may be the reason for her swollen glands as her tonsils are soooo large and also the dentist has told me that with teeth coming through all the time that could also be the reason for her glands to be always up. My son's are different, they are not huge but like little pea gland clusters on his neck,
    thanks for your reply,

my sister battled for 3 years with my niece, as her glands were always swollen she was back at docs every 2 months she was underweight had no appetite, and no energy, her tonsils were always swollen,
it was awful, In January after seeing a specialist they agreed to take out her tonsils as this was what was re-infecting her time and time again,
It was the best thing that has ever happend she is like a different child she is eating much better has gained weight,

all i can say is take yr child back and back to the docs until they agree to get her seen by a specialist,

when i think of the change in her in 6 months i could cry at how ill she must have felt all that time

    good luck

    Hi Denni,

My son who will be 10 in August, has had endlest problems, with speech, ears adanoids, glands etc. He has been backwards and forwards from specialist, since the age of 2.

He has now been discharged from all, as he has grown/ is growing out of it. I was told by one specialist that these kind of problems can resolve themselves around the age of 9.

If your worried keep hassling the doctor to check them out with the specialist and try not to worry to much.

Hope this doesnt sound to jumbled and good luck

Feel free to PM me, if you want to talk.

My husband always seems to have swollen glands.
Even if he just has the sniffles.

    And he's perfectly fine.
I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

If anything is a miss I'm sure the doctor will be able to sort it out.
Try not to worry too much hun I'm sure it will be fine.

    Love, light and Best wishes

    Hi ya

I have had four children with absolutely clean bills of health, but my 3rd little boy has had everything thrown at him since the day he was born.

I worry about him every day, it is totally natural to worry and get anxious when your child is sick, I took always think the worst.

Sam had Pneumonia last year and was in hospital for three weeks, he only has to get a sniffle now and I get panicked, and think OMG what if he gets it again!

your concerns are so natural! my suggestion would be to put them onto a good course of vitamins and see how that helps, all children get bugs and things and it does help them build up their immune system as they get older.

My sister had terrible problems when she was younger with her throat and was fine in the end!

dont worry and I am always here if you want to talk like all of us in here!
