Anyone had a PET scan....?

Just been called in for PET scan on Wednesday..I was told I would be having this. Any advice, Please!?

Sorry i can't help i've never heard of a PET scan before. Can't you ring the hospital/GP and ask them what it involves?

I'm sure it will be painless, as most scans are.

I'm not afraid of the scan at all...have read up loads about it. Just nervous of the results....
I'm wondering if it picks up anything else, eg scar tissue, or only cancers. Or can hopefully eliminate those nasties....

Hi again...Injection with radioactive glucose dye, which clings to particular types of cells. This show any sort of abnormalities happening in your body.
I am very lucky to have the chance, I think, as I don't think they hand them out too handily.
I am so sick of feeling drained from waiting for test results. This should provide a lot of answers, I hope.
