Does anyone get agoraphobia when on their own outside but feel ok when with someone?

    Hi
I have had agoraphobia on/off for years and have always somehow managed to deal with it even though it really stressed me out at times. However since I was really unwell last year, I find it so difficult to be outdoors on my own, but when I am with someone I am fine. My gp tells me to set myself little tasks to acomplish which I do in trying to overcome how I am.
Does anyone else get agorapahobic when on their own but fine when with someone else? I love being outdoors, despite it being scary, but unless I am with someone else I find it so difficult.

    Hey Poppy,

I am exactly the same, I am fine as long as I am with someone I condsider 'safe'. But alone left to do it by myself I am a wreck. I think the misunderstanding is that most people think agoraphobia is a fear of just the outside, when in our reality its so much more than that and sometimes having someone with you makes it alot easier.

How are you findng setting little tasks?? I think it can differ day to day.
