Hi, I am suffering badly from panic and anxiety attacks. It is causing me great unhappiness. Its really wierd because my life has actually got easier over the last few months and I have so much to be happy about but I have been through severe stress and worry previously and started having panic attacks over a year ago. I didn't know what they were then and have only just started looking into this since visiting my GP. I feel so alone and really need some good sound advice from fellow sufferers.

Thanks Meg. I really think I am going mad and it has been getting worse and worse. Constant dark thoughts and feeling that I am on my way out. Ridiculous!! It has started affecting my work too and I have tried so hard to get to a position of independence for myself and my two kids. I really don't want to mess things up now.

My doctor has asked me to think about medication, what do you think?

Many people don't take any and do fine , many do take some and do fine too. Choices. Ask him for CBT instead ...

If this is really recent you may want to try without for a bit longer and tackle it head on yourself .
