Therapy waiting list

Hi

I was referred 2 weeks ago by my gp for therapy for my anxiety. I recieved a letter yesterday asking if I still wanted it!!!!!! (Of course I do, if it will help).

The letter explained a bit about what will happen and stated that if I felt it was not for me to get in touch with them!

Then I read the worse part, it has a waiting list of up to 30 weeks!!!!!!
I nearly had a panic attack thinking I may have to wait 30 weeks, thats over half of a year.

I just wanted to ask if this is normal waiting times?

Its a long time to wait I feel, I so thought I maybe able to come off my meds by then but maybe I will have to put up with this until then.

Just wanted your opinions.

Hi Tetley

I was thinking of doing that next time I am at the doctors. I have looked at paying private but not sure if its better or waste of money, which we have not got.
