Wow - 5 litres a day is an awful lot and no wonder it is high!

Can you not cut that down drastically?

Flipping heck. Goodness. Wow. Perhaps your doctor should be helping you reduce your alcohol intake and that would almost certainly sort out your heart rate.

I'm not a doctor and that seem logical to me.

Panic attacks started in 1992. 1998 i became agoraphobic which lead into being room bound. Couldn't even get upstairs. 2002 i started getting better, able to drive and work. 2005 i became house bound again. 2009 i have been making SLOW progress, still not able to go anywhere alone, but my journeys are getting longer. No where near 'normal' but at least i can go out.

not surprised your heart rate is high. Whats your Blood pressure like? I'm not a Doctor, but I am a registered psychiatric nurse and an independent nurse prescriber. I do know its not easy and I really suffer with health anxiety. I would speak to my GP more about the drinking.

I think you probably already know that the solution to your problem is in your own hand.

It would appear that your problem is self inflicted. However, what led to you drinking to the excess you do is another matter.

As a layperson I would say that you have to seek help with the alcohol problem, but it will only be effective if you have reached a nadir and want to submit to the help.

Of course you have not specifically asked for help in this thread. You have simply made a statement, which may or may not be a cry for help.

    Best Wishes.

It will if you drink that much and imagine what damage you are doing to your liver as well.

Maybe get some help with the drinking I say.

Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome is also a dementia mainly caused by excessive alcohol. A person will not give up alcohol unless deep down they wish to stop.

That seems like a awful lot of alcohol. If you really want to stop, you can. Find some support, it is out there and dig your heels in and don't give up. Alcohol does not help anxiety/depression, it causes it. Trust me I know what I am talking about.

I am not trying to sound harsh but if you don't address your drinking you will have lots more health problems in the future, a high bp etc is just the start. It is your body telling you that you are killing it.

I know I sound like I am preaching, but I don't mean to. Stop the drinking WITH medical assistance and after a few weeks you WILL notice a difference in how you feel. This is your life, you only get one, and it is your choice to make how you wish to live it. And I've been there, so I do know how hard it is.
