    5 minutes of meditation

    Picture this...

Lying on a beach with your eyes closed, you feel the warmth of the summers sun on your body as you hear the seagulls flying in the deep blue sky around you. You listen to the waves gently lapping at the shingle on the shore as the cool sea breeze softly soothes you. You begin to dream of white horses trotting through the waves as you hear the sound of a piano playing on the radio sat beside where you laze. You drift off into a calm relaxed state to wake feeling refreshed to carry on with your day......

    Re: 5 minutes of meditation

I came across that by accident and I really loved it so had to share.

It reminded me of a session I had in a psychiatric hospital. The therapist got us to lie down and shut our eyes. She then told us to focus on our body by concentrating on each muscle in turn. For instance, to clench our hands as tightly as possible before letting them go limp. Then doing the same with our arms, our legs, etc so that the whole of our body was completely relaxed.

She then put some relaxing music on such as on that link before describing a beach with the sun shining and waves hitting the shore etc. I must admit I got Too relaxed because I nearly fell asleep but I enjoyed every moment of the session!

Hearing that music etc just reminded me of that session.
