have you ever realised that for some reason if something is surreal or odd that it unsettles you and thus begins to cause anxiety when you were otherwise actually having quite a fine, symptom free hour or day? i have recently found that because i have some odd belief that my mind is not "quite right" at the moment that anything that requires some slight thought out of the blue or that is quite a big thought, such as anything from "what happens after death" to a surreal and odd film can set off my anxiety because i start to think my mind cannot handle this right now!
just wondering, as I took my sister to see Coraline and was genuinely distressed by the weirdness of it all - which made me slightly anxious, even though i've calmed down now

p.s i know this is a laughable idea that a child's film freaked me out!

I can relate to your problem, sometimes I have what I call, funny turns. When i see something out of the ordinary I feel strange! It does'nt have to be scary just different? Tv does it to me sometimes espescially when they show fast shots when the camera moves really fast and it swirls around. It disturbs me? it feels unnatural. I've never really thought about it before but maybe it's because I so crave normality and simplicity in my life that anything out of ordinary is just too much for me handle. I'm not very good at explaining sorry.

yes, i understand what you mean. that's a perceptive explanation, about craving normality. i was just wondering if anyone else felt the same!
