We stand alone, its been a while
We find it hard to force a smile
We try too hard
We know that’s true
To be someone who isn’t you
It brings us down
All we see is lies
Forced upon our teary bloodshot eyes
But why do we feel this way
To be in sadness every day
To wake up from a sun filled dream
And release all is not as it seems
It’s hard to move it’s hard to smile
No energy to walk an extra mile
To be in hate and not in love
To be always down and not above
To stare at walls and not a sky
To scream in silence, oh god why!
Anything can set our tears
A journey, song or a real fear
Of being someone we can’t escape
Trapped in a cage of bitter rage
People tend to shrug us away
Or wind us up in a hateful way
Why are you like that, what’s your game
Why are you acting so insane?
Because we are in sorrow, we don’t know why
From day to day, we stare and cry
Simple things to us are worse
To be depressed is a nasty curse.
