Hello from me (emet, ocd etc)
Just thought I'd say hi although I've already posted some messages on the forum.
In a nutshell I'm middle aged, have had emetophobia most of my life, OCD which comes and goes and loads of anxiety. I've also had a spell of depression in the past.
Last year I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder which nicely covers everything. Thanks to therapy (group sessoions and individual CBT) and medication (citalopram then escitalopram) I'm feeling much better than I have for years. Positive about life and less anxious.
My only regret is that I suffered in silence for years knowing how I felt was not normal but too embarrassed to get help. Taking that first step and going to the GP was the hardest thing but the best thing I've ever done.
If anyone is reading this and suffering in silence please pluck up the courage to get help.
