Just how bad does IBS get, and sharp pains under arms/armpits??

Yesterday I had about 8 really hard spasms in my gut near my belly button, like a knife had been put in. Eventually I broke wind a lot and went to the toilet twice, so that i'm not too worried about.

What is worrying me are these really sharp stinging pains that come on particularly under my right armpit, its really excrutiating for about a second up to 10 seconds then it goes. I hope its nothing too serious, if anything its just annoying.

My doc says I don't have angina, but I think I do as I have every symptom associated with it and have done for a while. I'm not that worried about angina either, just these pains under my arms/armpits really annoy me.

does anyone else get them?

I have IBS and have noticed in the last couple of weeks getting a pain in my left armpit. sometimes it is a sharp shooting pain and other times feel like it is burning! I have no idea what this is but I really don't like it!
Have u been to the docs about it? xxx
