    restless mind, "slow" body

I sometimes feel like my body is too slow, and that it can't keep up with all the anxiety that's inside me. I feel physically tired and somehow slow, slow movements, slow breathing, slow swallowing, slow heartbeat /and of course, I keep thinking that I will stop breathing and die, even though I know that it will not happen/, but at the same time I feel intelectually and emotionally tense and anxious. Does that make sense? It's hard to explain, but I was wondering if anybody else experiences a similar thing.

    Yes definitely Indie,

I feel like my mind is racing with all these thoughts etc but that so much energy and attention is there that my capacity for actually being in the 'real' world is kinda limited.....

First Anxiety...then panic attacks...now GAD and depression...now working on a better future!

    Hi Indie

You definetly aren't alone - I think in someways the racing mind and anxious state DO take away the energy to do things but though it seems strange when I feel that exhausted I take my dog for a walk a throw a frisbe for him for an hour or so. Watching him having fun slows the anxious thoughts and doing something reasonably enegetic seems to recharge my batteries, maybe trying something simular will help!

    I agree.

Getting out and physically active does help not only with the sluggish feeling but your mental wellbeing too by using up the free adrenaline and stimultating endorphins.

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.

    Hi Indie,

I also get lots of head rushes and buzzing thoughts but the rest of my body feels tired.

I try and keep busy and distract myself as much as poss when this happens.

When i have loads of thoughts in my head i often write them down it helps clear it out a bit.

    Take Care,
