Cost of Clinical Psych

I was just quoted 110euro for a 50minute session. I had to say no, I can't possibly afford that.

Any of you guys seeing a therapist, how much are you being charged in the UK or anyone else reading this in Ireland, how much are you being charged?

Well I was lucky and got 12 sessions free with my private healthcare poilcy and yes it was worth it.

That is true but I'd struggle to be able to buy food if I was paying that out, even twice a month. I must check with my health insurer.

I am receiving therapy with an anxiety specialist on the NHS, and before that I was getting counselling also on the NHS. The problem is I often have to go weeks between appointments, so in all reality I am sorting my own treatment out elsewhere.

My hypnotherapist charges £45 for an hour's session.

Mostly I make do with inositol (£9 for 100 pills) and self-help mp3s which I already own or have downloaded using UTorrent.

Where do you find out about all this stuff, I read your survival guide (which is brilliant) you must have put some amount of research into it. I don't know what inositol is though?

What kind of thing are the self-help mp3s, see I'm thinking when chandler was listening to that quit smoking tape! Do they really work?

I think I'm going to give my CBT book another go and really put the homework into it this time. I'm not very disciplined that way...
