citalopram and propanolol together?

Hi have been given propanolol to take with my citalopram and im a bit wary of taking both together? Have had enough side effects just with the cital. Anyone whoes been there done that any feedback please!!!!

Hi, i am on citalopram and propranolol, doctor has just up the propranolol dose up to 40mg three times a day, as the lower doses worked temporarily and after a few days i was back to extreme anxiety and panic attacks. I was on diazepam, but was told i couldn't have them any more due to the dependency problem, i hope the new higher dose will help, i will let you know.
The last 3 weeks or so that i have been on the meds together has not been easy, but that might have happened anyway, who can tell. have you read up the information on propranolol in the medications section, it might help you decide whether you want to take them or not.

Hi, propranolol is sometimes prescribed alongside citalopram -- as far as I know the only SSRI you CANNOT take propranolol with is fluvoxamine. If you take them both together, the fluvoxamine makes it difficult for your body to process the propranolol.

hiya, i currently take both together,been on cit bout 3 yr and started pro only 5 mnth ago, iv been fine with them, i take 20mg cit and 1 80mg sr pro- like a say iv been fine.

I take 20mg Cit + 3x 10mg Prop - not had any problems.

You may feel slightly lethargic & cold for the first few days but that will soon pass
