Is it safe to take Valerian root and Omega3 (EPA fish oil) with ADs? Has anyone noticed any improvement in doing so to get past the side effects?
[I'm into my second week of Steraline and still getting terrible anxiety, panic and tingling sensations(usualy arms and chest) and I'm looking for anything to help me till the side effects pass]

Itook a mutivitamin drink each day when i lost my appetite due to starting Citalopram.It didnt help with my side effects ,I had been taking omega 3 for months and this didnt help me either . sue

You can take multivitamins and Omega 3 with antidepressants but you should avoid 5-HTP and valerian as these can react with the medication.

Omega 3 is absoloutely fine with AD's. They should actually help with depression alot too. As for the valerian, from experience in pharmacy, i had learnt it is safe although there have been some contradictions to this on the net. Valerian is a sleep calmative and should not interact at all. If you were taking a benzo however you would certainly not mix valerian with it.
