    Hi Leo

My mum is actually in the process of being assessed for Fostering. Its quite a drawn out process and the courses she has had to go on have been quite upsetting. Even after going through all of this training, and waiting to see if she has been successful, she is still unsure as to whether or not she would be able to go through with it. She does get very attached to children and to have to look after a child who had been abused (god forbid) and not be able to comfort that child in the normal way would break her heart. Also knowing that that child may go back to the environment would be extremely difficult.

Having said all that though I would imagine the rewards could be fantastic.

I'm sure you've already looked at this website but just in case here it is:-

Good luck with whatever you decide.
