    Thanks Lisa (bottleblond)

I was completely freaked tonight cos I have been feeling unwell all week with chest pains and having had a heart attack a year ago it worried me.

Tonight I didn't feel very well and came over all hot and had bad diarrohea (sorry if TMI) and then my face, neck, chest and stomach came up in what I can only call insect bites but they weren't.

I freaked out and my face was all swollen and red and I thought I was going to need to call 999!

I spoke to Lisa in MSN who calmed me down and said it could be hives.

Thanks Lisa cos I was really getting scared and I have now calmed down thanks to you mate

I am ok now and the swellings are going down and I am calmer.

I really appreciate someone being there cos I was about to call 999!

All it needed was someone to calm me down and talk to me and it worked.

This is why this site is so great and the people on here are too.

    xxx

I can completely understand your reaction to the rash as some rashes can indicate major problems, where others - minor.

I truely believe, and this is something i don't think i have ever said to someone...but...i think you have PTSD.

What you went through was a hell of a shock and a you still live with this fear of it happening again.

I don't know much about this but some understanding and answers would be nice although you didn't recieve this at your cardiac appointment.

I am here for you anytime mate and i really do appreciate your fears here.

    Love you loads
    Lisa

Thanks Lisa - I never thought you could suffer PTSD with just being ill but I know that the nightmares are still there and I can't get over the time I was in hospital and how it effected me.

It was 9 weeks in total and I have to try and get over this.

I hope I can get there soon

    Re: Thanks Lisa (bottleblond)

Thanks everyone. I feel ok today (just a bit nervy) and we are away this evening at my mum's birthday party and staying over in a hotel with the family.

Nickie - I saw the cardiologist the other day who was interested in the chest pain and told me to see my GP! How helpful was that ? I don't know whether I should use my GTN spray or not as not as this has never been explained to me as I didn't really have any coronary care following the heart attack cos I was so ill with the Crohn's.

I am sure the chest pains are anxiety but it can still be worrying can't it?

Ok well you need to use the GTN when you are getting the tight chest & pains. What they use to tell my patients was just try it, & if it relieves then you know when do use it again & that it helps.
The fact you cardiologist told you to see you GP is disgusting, he is the specialist for Christ sake & your GP would just refer you back to him. You should be receiving cardiac rehab now following your MI & its really very good, i would request you get this xx
