Dead simple(if only!!)
Once when I was right in the middle of a panic attack in a public place, a doctor helped me. She gave me an ice cold drink and told me to sip it. The sharp coldness kind of shocked me back into some sort of 'normal' state and calmed me down, so I try to remember to grab a cold drink or an ice-cube, if I feel an attack coming on.
(she mentioned something about it hitting the hypothalamus-unsure of spelling sorry!!-) It worked for me, at that moment, that I needed a quick fix.
The other thing is relaxation or hypnotherapy cds when I have a quiet half hour to myself. Very calming, if you have the time, and peace and quiet. Really useful thing to try.
I love this place is great, supportive and so helpful.
