60mg Citalopram

I have been on 60 mg of citalopram for about a month and at around 1-2 pm everydayI get really tired and drowsy.Is this the meds or just me and the anxiety,I have been really stressed the last few week's and other thing's so it could be that as well.
Has anyone else felt like this on a larger dose.
I take my meds around 9 am.xxx

I'm only on 30mg and I get sleepy in the afternoon.

Sometimes I give in to it and have a little kip on the settee

Can you take the meds at night instead... that's what I did and it worked a treat. Worth a go!

Yeah, if you're taking that amount you have to spread them over the whole day.

I take 20mg just before I go to bed and 10mg about 9am.

I was told to take them in the morning,but maybe I could split the dosage.Thank you.x

Actually I thought it was the best thing to do myself, as taking the whole dose at once would have made me even more sleepy in the afternoon.

You have to experiment a bit and find out what is best for you.

If I were on 60mg, I would take maybe 30mg in the morning and 30mg at night just before I went to bed.

Then again it might suit you better with 3, 20mg doses spread throughout the day.

I've been splittling my dose of 30mgs in the am and 10mg at bedtime and today when I told the GP this she advised me to take it all in the morning-as this has the most effect????
I've just been increased to 60mgs and can honestly say I don't know how I'm going to stay awake on it-as even on 40mgs a day I just want to nap!
