    Diabetes

Hi all over the last few days I've been really worrying about having Diabetes . Ive started counting how many times i go to the loo about 4-6 times a day . I think this is mainly steaming from my weight . Ive been reading everywhere about the increased risk . Has anyone on here got it and how did they find out . I had a full blood test a couple of weeks ago as i was anemic and it came back fine .Don't know if this would show Diabetes or not really worried at the moment about this.

I go to the loo lots and I don't have diabetes.

You would have other symptoms too like:

    Symptoms of diabetes can include:
    • feeling thirsty all the time,
    • frequent urination,
    • tiredness,
    • weight loss,
    • muscle wasting,
    • frequent infections or slow-healing sores,
    • itchiness around the vagina or penis,
    • regular episodes of thrush, and
    • blurred vision.

    Re: Diabetes

i have type 2 diabetes and was about 30 pounds overweight, went on portion control diet lost the weight with daily exercise and the diabetes went away. So diet control does work but is hard to do if your anxious or depressed as I was when they told me I had the diabetes, its a vicious circle you have something wrong so you worry and it gets worse. I don't know if this would work for all but weight has a lot to do with diabetes. Good luck to you.

I worry about this also because of my vision disturbances but this is one of only a number of illnesses I fear. Health anxiety is tough.

    Re: Diabetes

Frequent urination can also be brought about by I.B.S which is of course commonly accompanies anxiety disorders. I myself have often wondered if I'm diabetic, mostly because of frequent urination and being overweight, but right now I'm in a good place so I'm not going to worry about it. I'm just going to focus on loosing the weight and getting healthy. Thats the best way to combat type 2 diabetes, get physically healthy. Hope everything goes well.
