I have always felt a bit faint when I get the urge to have a bowel movement and have always had this so know that my body is sensitive to its normal functions. I am now peri menopause and although not having what I think of as hot flushes I am finding that when I get the urge to have a bowel movement I am getting what feels like a hot flush which goes away once I go to the toilet - I am also finding that hot drinks and exercise make me go all hot - my husband says that the mild weather we are having is making him have hot flushes when he rushes around and I did notice that when we had a cold snap the hot flushes went away BUTI googled and came up with carcinoid syndrome - carcinoid tumours can be in bowel,lung and stomach and I know my bowel is okay as I had appendix out 18 months ago and a good look around my bowels at same time but I have now latched onto to my hot flushes being caused by a carcinoid tumour.
I am due to see my GP in a week to have thyroid tested as its due - I moved house so its a new GP although he knows about my severe health anxiety so am plucking up courage to ask him about carcinoid syndrome but I know its extremely rare and asking about this will confirm to him just how bad my health anxiety is.
Does anyone else get this hot flush before a bowel movement???
