Doc just prescribed Propranolol to start new job

Hey there!

I know some of you will have read my messages before and know that I'm starting a new job soon (28th). Already feeling pretty anxious but trying to fight it.

Went to doc's today to ask for some valium to help with starting and he told me that Propranolol would be better for me. He's prescribed 80mg but for the first three days just take half a tab.

Would appreciate any advice on this medication....and do you think the dosage is appropriate for a first time user?

Firstly well done on starting a new job that is brilliant

I have been on propanalol for about 3 years now. I started on 40mg tablets taking 3 a day. So that seems the same as you taking 1/2 a 80mg - i think! I now take 2 x 10mg twice a day and i am fine with that.

I never had any problems with them and they really made a difference to keep the palpitations under control. They also work pretty quickly so you dont need to wait ages for the effects to kick in unlike anti deps.

Give them a try and good luck with the new job.

I've been on propanalol and it did help, it stopped my panic attacks i think.

great about your new job. i was on the same dose and i had no problems on it. it works really quickly and stops the rapid heart beat and sweating and trembling etc...
