These meds seem to work for me!

Hi all,

I have read different posts about "VENLAFAXINE" But I can honestly say without a shadow of a doubt that these pills have been like a small miracle to me. (berforehand I was taking 60mg of citalopram)

This time last year I wasn't able to really move outside of my "safe House". Once a week I would get a taxi to my mums where my husband would pick me up after he finished work. It took diazepam to relax me.

Now I haven't taken diazepam for months - or even my rescue remedy!

I go to my mums each week - admittedly still by taxi, but I do this without another thought about it. I then take her to Tesco's shopping.

This week so far I have been to the dentist on my own twice (got to have 7 teeth out tomorrow!). I have been to my psychiatrist, and have been round to my docs for an appointment. I haven't done anything like this alone for quite a few years now..... and the freedom is fantastic!

In 7 weeks time I am off to Jamaica with my husband for 2 weeks - and I can't wait.

If I can do this then there is hope for all of you.

Great to hear that you're doing so well on the new meds. It's great to read uplifting posts like this, particularly on days like this when I can't get myself going.

That is really good news. I am so pleased for you.
I am on Citalopram and my gp wanted me to go onto Venlafaxine some time ago but I have stayed on Citalopram.
In what way did you find the Venlafaxine better for you than Citalopram? I am interested to know, just in case I ever do go onto it.
You are so lucky going to Jamaica. I hope you have a wonderful holiday. You deserve it!
