ibs and bleeding question

hi everyone i have suffered with ibs for many year which flares up in times of stress and anxiety which is alot lol i have read lot of threads about ibs and have noticed that some anal bleeding is put down to ibs but if you google it says its not a symptom of ibs. but i had bleeding and had a colonoscopy and was told it was proberly internal piles but they couldnt actually see them im thinking it was because of the ibs because as soon as i stopped stressing and my ibs calmed down the bleeding stopped i be interested to no what other people think. Is bleeding a symptom that should be documented with ibs and has anyone had a simular experience .

I think the key thing here is whether the blood is fresh (bright red) or 'old' (dark red). Old blood has come from deep inside - which is not a symptom of IBS - but I have IBS and I do get bright red blood occasionally. I can always relate this to a time when I've had difficulty going to the loo and I am prone to getting fissures (which also sting or hurt a bit) just inside.

thats what i thought when i went to see the specialist but it is not always the case because my bleeding was dark red maroon and they still said it was proberly internal piles as they could see no pther cause for the bleeding
