Antidepressants

I just wanted to get an overview on who is on what antidepressant & how u how found to be?

Any side effects?
Have they alleviated your anxiety?
Length of time on it before a noticeable change?

It has been suggested by my GP that one would help my anxiety but for 2 years i have avoided it. However i am now possibly going to trial one, it cant make me feel any worse eh?

It would be great to hear from you so i can discuss it with my GP!

Hi Nicki

My experiences of ADs are very mixed

1. Seroxat (1st time), dry mouth was the only SA. 2 weeks before they kicked in...great at alleviating anxiety

2. Cipralex. SAs were bad..no appetite, insomnia, night sweats, increased anx, panic attacks. SAs abated in 3 weeks. Meds kicked in in 5 weeks. Good at alleviating anx.

3. Seroxat (2nd time). SAs hellish...as for cipralex but lasting much longer. I'm 10 weeks in anx up and down, still have some SAs.

Sorry nothing really definative for you nicki. From what i can gather they work well the first time round...so could well be for you.
