iron deficiency linked to depression

I'm on gluconate here myself, having tried both fumarate and sulphate already. It's the type I find most tolerable, but it still doesn't agree with me. Still, I guess I better start back on it. Sooner I get my iron levels up, sooner I can stop the pills.

I couldn't take the iron tablets they hurt my tum so I bought Spatone they are really good and don't cause the usual iron tablets symptoms

Oh and you should also take a vitamin c supplement with iron it helps absorption

Just found this thread after looking up 'Iron deficiency causing depression?' on Google.

I've recently been told my iron levels are really low again & over the last few months (especially in the past week) I've been feeling really low/depressed. I've seemed to of developed OCD intrusive thoughts (according to a website OCD is quite common with anemia) which are driving me mental & making me feel even worse & making my anxiety worse.

Interesting! Deffo going to keep an eye on my mood in relation to my iron levels.

That is interesting I have kinda the same situation obsessive thoughts got worse out the blue and I'm anaemic too. I may try iron tablets now.
