Hubs is giving it some with the depressing music via Alexa.

"Alexa, play some depressing shit from the 60s and 70s"

Current song - Make it Easy on Yourself - Walker Brothers.

Is he trying to tell me something?

The moment Barry Manilow's Can't Smile Without You comes on, the internet will 'mysteriously' go off.

Car in quarantine at garage for the foreseeable following expensive work thanks to mechanic testing positive for Covid (fortunately had no contact-not sure about car)and now fridge freezer's motor's gone and would cost more to repair than to get a new one...Thank God it's snowing and cold outside.

    Hasn't been a good start to 2021...

    Oh no Pulisa

At least this time of the year you won't be going too far and your mechanic will more than likely be back on the job by the time you need it.
And your food won't spoil too badly in this weather until you get a replacement fridge.
Do the old trick of standing the milk carton in a container of cold water. Shame you haven't got the car because it would have acted as a temporary fridge for you. But if you have a garage that will help with some items in this weather. Also wrapping items up will help to a point to conceal the chill.
I expect you'll be looking for deals or just finding a shop that can deliver a new one quickly.

This sort of thing normally happens to me.
Two Christmases ago the fluorescent light in the kitchen went on Christmas Eve. Last Christmas the toilet stopped flushing, 3 days of flushing with a bucket. And only last week the bedroom curtain rail collapsed with no joy of repairing.

These things are sent to try us and we solve them.
Bl**dy annoying though Pulisa, I can definitely relate. xx

Thanks to you both, Nora and Carnation xx

I'm relieved to have been able to order a replacement from Curry's online who can deliver quickly and take the old one away....Have managed to save as much food as I can. I don't want to lose my "Covid" supplies if we have to self-isolate for 2 weeks! My old fridge freezer was under warranty but the earliest they could come out was Thursday and the repair would have been more than the cost of a new one apparently.

My daugher's curtain rail has also come down and needs repairing and the central heating timer has broken but at least I can keep things going manually...or is that tempting fate?!

We must have the same airwaves of faulty gadgets Pulisa.

I forgot to mention my kettle packing up on Christmas Day too. Boiling saucepans for cups of tea wasn't quite what I'd planned.

I ordered my curtain rail and kettle from Amazon. They were delivered within a few days. These jobs certainly keeping us busy.

I'm not much help on the timer, but you could get advise on YouTube. Then again if you can operate manually it will suffice until life more safe to deal with. x

Oh yes..That's a minor problem. It's not as if I'll be away from the house and wanting the heating to come on at a set time anyway. The timer's prehistoric anyway ..like most things in my house! The avocado bath suite is still functioning well, Nora...If it ain't broke etc.
