Effects of increase of cit from 20 - 30mg?

Doctor has increased my dosage from 20mg-30mg 4 days ago.
Now been on cit for almost 4 weeks,had some good days but this evening have been aggitated and tense,unable to relax. Any thoughts please?

I have been on 20mg since December and still get off days. They are few and far between and a lot more bearable than before the Citalopram. I think it is completely expected and normal that you will still feel tense so early on. In particular because you have had an increase in dose - which I have read on this forum causes similar side effects to when you first started the meds ie increased anxiety.

just needed some reassurance from a fellow cit taker! its just abit gutting when you have had a good day then seems to go downhill, incidently it happened after doing some cleaning jobs which got me a bit tired. As the increase settles will these side effects lessen and have more good days than bad?

I can't say how long it will take for the increase to settle, but my side effects when I started taking Cit lasted about 6 weeks I think and then I started to feel a LOT better. It all varies from person to person so don't worry if it takes a bit longer for you.

One thing I do seem to notice is that when I am tired my depression/anxiety returns (not as bad and it is more controllable) so tiredness definately has an effect I think.
